Specialist Contraceptive Services at Northgate Medical Centre

At Northgate Medical Centre, we offer expert fitting of long-acting reversible contraception (LARC), including:

Hormonal Coil (IUS) – e.g. Mirena, Kyleena
Non Hormonal Coil (IUD) – e.g. Copper Coil

Specialist Female GP-led Service

All fittings and removals are carried out by experienced female GPs with specialist training in women’s health and contraception. We provide a confidential and supportive environment to discuss your options and help you choose the best method for your needs.

Minor Eye Surgery

If you have a recent problem with your eyes – such as sore eyes, red eyes or visual disturbance – you can be assessed and treated by our local Minor Eye Conditions Service.

Flu Clinics

OUR FLU CLINIC WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY 12th OCTOBER. YOU WILL RECEIVED A TEXT OR LETTER IF YOU ARE ELIGIBLE.  If these clinics fill up we will be offering other appointments through other weeks. Ask us when you ring. 

If you are 65+ or have a chronic condition.

Having the flu vaccine is the best way to protect yourself and others from a nasty virus that kills around 11,000 people every year in England. By having the vaccine you’re also helping protect the NHS from being overwhelmed by a flu epidemic combining with any rise in Covid-19 cases.

Flu Vaccinations are available for all patients who are over 65, who have Chronic Disease, who are pregnant, or who are carers.  This offers a high level of protection from influenza and its complications.

Please attend alone unless you need a carer, wear a mask if you have a chronic disease.

Please do not arrive at the flu clinic if you have any of the following symptoms:

  • new, continuous/repeatedly cough
  • temperature greater than 37.8C
  • a loss of sense of smell / taste

Sexual Health

Virgin Care Sexual Health Services have stopped all Walk in Clinics

They will see patients via an appointment if they ring the services, but they are still appt only and no drop-in sessions.
